Biographie

Matthew Freddy Puruntatameri est né à Darwin en 1972. Matthew a commencé à peindre sur toile dans les années 1980 à Jilamara. Son père Paddy Freddy Puruntatameri a encouragé Matthew à faire de l’art et à garder les traditions vivantes. Il a commencé à se concentrer sur les sculptures et la peinture en 1988. Matthew a étudié pour l’obtention d’un diplôme en Art & Craft. Lui et son jeune frère Patrick ont beaucoup exposé dans toute l’Australie, leurs travaux sont dans des collections internationales et ont une réputation exceptionnelle en tant que protagoniste d’artistes Tiwi.
